NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – The North Salem cyclist who was hit by a deer dashing across a road last week has died of his injuries.
Hutchins was riding along Delancey Road in North Salem on Thursday, May 9, when a deer dashed across the road and crashed into him, according to New York State Police. He was seriously injured and taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, police said. He died of his injuries Friday.
In addition to the New York State Police, responders included the North Salem Police Department, the Croton Falls Fire Department, the North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Westchester EMS Paramedics.
