DiNardo is one of the people behind the mixed use Wrights Court development at 339 Route 202 in Somer, across from the restaurant.

The development will feature office and retail along with seven apartments, ranging from one to two bedrooms. DiNardo will also be closing the restaurant for two weeks at the end of September to do renovations to the interior and exterior of the restaurant, including adding a 22-foot bar. The restaurant will reopen on Oct. 3.

"We want to open up the whole front of the restaurant," DiNardo said.

DiNardo said the restaurant, which first opened in Somers in 1995, plans to update the menu, offering more gluten free and health conscious options. DiNardo, a Somers resident, said he believes in reinvesting in the community.

"We've lived in Somers for 20 years," DiNardo said. "Our kids have gone through the school system. Hopefully, we will be here for a long time. We are happy to live here. What better way to do a development than by doing it in your own town?"

DiNardo said he expects the project to be completed in December with tenants moving in January. Three of the seven units are affordable housing.
