SOMERS, N.Y. - Parents and/or guardians of Somers Middle and Intermediate School students received notification Thursday morning that the schools were under temporary lock-out for security reasons. A Lincoln Hall student had left the campus without authorization and was found behind the middle school.
Investigator Thomas Roidl of the Somers State Police reports that everyone was accounted for. They are either in custody or have been returned, although the case is still officially open.
A lock-out involves locking all exterior doors to ensure that all students remain inside the building. It was in effect for less than ten minutes this morning. No further disruption occurred and everything is back to normal at this time.
