The town approved the $4.6 million settlement at Tuesday's board meeting, paving the way for the Granite Knolls Sports Complex. The sports complex will be built at no cost to the taxpayers, Supervisor Michael Grace said.
The Yorktown Town Board is weighing a $3.8 million bid from Montesano Brothers to build the complex. The town held a public hearing on July 11 on granting stormwater, wetland and tree permits and many residents expressed approval for the complex.
The complex would include two turf fields, a baseball field, a putting green, basketball courts, handball courts and a playground.
