'Sexually Violent' Mahopac Offender Reports Change Of Address

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Putnam County residents regarding the residency of 43-year-old Erik Reifschneider, who lived in Mahopac, but has moved out of the area to Kansas City, Missouri.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Reifschneider as a Level 2 threat, which means he is a "moderate risk of a repeat offense.” He is also designated as a sexually violent offender.

Reifschneider was convicted of aggravated sodomy of a 2-year-old child, according to the Division of Criminal Justice Services. Reifschneider was arrested by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation's Sex Offender Registry Unit and sentenced to 154 months in state prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Sex Offender Registry Unit.
