Somers Accident Witness Arrested for DWI

SOMERS, N.Y. - Stamford, CT resident Gene Palmer, 43, was witness to a motorcycle accident on Route 118 on Friday at 11:15 p.m.

When New York State Police arrived to investigate the accident, they determined that Palmer was intoxicated, with a BAC of 13%. Palmer was issued a summons for Driving While Intoxicated and is required to attend Somers Town Court on Wednesday, August 8 at 5:30 p.m.

In other Somers news, a 12-year-old resident of the Lincoln School for Boys attempted to unlock the doors of his cottage on Wednesday by pulling a wire hanging from the ceiling. The wire set off a fire alarm. The boy was charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident, 2nd Degree, and was detained at Woodfield Cottage in Valhalla. He was due to be arraigned in Westchester County Family Court on Thursday.
