- The Somers Lions Club began its annual carnival on at Fireman's Field. The carnival, which includes an array of rides, runs until Sunday.
- Ossining residents are enjoying a whole new salon experience at VaZa Salon. The hair salon, at 137 Main St. in the village, recently celebrated its grand opening after having a soft opening in November.
- A multi-vehicle accident in Katonah on I-684 south shut down all lanes between exit 7 and exit 5 for nearly two hours.
- New York State Police reportedly kept quiet about drugs and other evidence that was lost out of the Hawthorne barracks in 2011, according to the Albany Times Union.
