SOMERS, N.Y. -- The Somers Town Board has approved an $8.7 million 2016 budget, according to theexaminernews.com .
The budget, which passed the board by a unanimous vote, has essentially the same impact on the town's people as the initial budget proposal submitted earlier this year by Supervisor Rick Morrissey, according to the report.
Under Morrissey's plan, the tax rate increases by about 2.7 percent while the tax levy increases by about 2.5 percent, the report said.
