About half of the funds will be paid through a state grant and there's a possibility that the town may qualify for the remaining funds from the East Coast Greenway, according to the report.

The Somers Energy Environment Committee is leading the sidewalk project and hopes to create three miles of sidewalks and bike lanes to connect Reis Park and Somerstown Shopping Center, according to the report.
