SOMERS, N.Y. -- Worried about your pet and the possibility of Ebola? Dr. Andrew Frishman, owner of Progressive Animal Hospital, is advising his patients to read the information supplied by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
"In general, I know a lot of pet owners across the U.S. have concerns but this is not something I'm worried about for our area," he says. "Every now and then, someone will come in with their dog and say, jokingly, 'He may have Ebola virus' when, in reality, it's usually something straightforward like a urinary tract infection."
Go here for the CDC's “Questions and Answers about Ebola and Pets.” Frishman, a Mount Kisco resident, adds "I can’t stress enough that the risk of you or your pet contracting Ebola is incredibly low."
