Donated blood is distributed primarily to the 20 hospitals in the Hudson Valley region but may be distributed to any of the 200 hospitals between the eastern tip of Long Island and Albany, depending on the need.
The drive is also collecting whole blood. The waiting period between donations is 56 days for whole blood and 112 days for double red cell donations.
Walk-ins are welcome. Photo or signature identification is required. Donors younger than 17 must have parental consent. Eat and drink well before donating. The blood drive does not cancel due to bad weather.
