Carlos Pauate of White Plains was arrested Tuesday following an investigation that included the release of a composite sketch to officers and the public in hopes of locating the suspect, White Plains Police said.

As previously reported by Daily Voice, the woman was attacked Wednesday, Nov. 8, around 11:30 p.m., several blocks from the Metro-North train station on a path that is frequently used by commuters, said White Plains Police Chief Anne Fitzsimmons.

During the attack on Water Street, Pauate rode up on a bike from behind, grabbed the woman and took her to a wooded area where she was sexually assaulted, the chief said.
