Monday, April 16

AARP Defensive Driving Course: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It’s never too late, or too early, to brush up on your driving skills. The fee is $17 for AARP members, $19 for nonmembers. Bring a valid driver’s license, a bag lunch, a beverage and a pen to the seminar. Make checks out to AARP and submit them to the reference desk at the Somers Library, 82 Primrose St. To register, call 914-232-5717.

Senator Ball's Student Transportation Meeting: 7 p.m. Sen. Greg Ball will host an open forum on the issues of school transportation and mandate relief at Kennedy Catholic High School, 54 Route 138, Somers. For more information, contact Krista Gobins at 845-200-9716.

Tuesday, April 17

Substance Abuse Council: 6:30 p.m. The council will meet at the Somers Town House, 335 Route 202.

Zoning Board of Appeals: 7:30 p.m. The board will meet at the Somers Town House, 335 Route 202.

PTA Council Meeting: 9:15 to 11 a.m. The council will meet at the Somers Middle School, 250 Route 202, in Conference Room 246.

Somers Education Foundation: 7:30 to 9 p.m. The foundation will meet at the Somers Intermediate School, 240 Route 202, in the library.

Story Time at Muscoot Farm: 1 to 1:30 p.m. People of all ages are invited to stop by and hear stories of farm adventures.

Wednesday, April 18

Restaurants For Relay: Dine out Wednesday and a portion of your bill will be donated to the Somers Relay For Life event. Participating restaurants are Il Forno Trattoria, Somerfields, La Fontane Ristorante, Seasons, Lovell Street Bar & Grill, Chili's, Mamma Rosa Ristorante, Taste Deli, The Greek American Grill and Somers 202. Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony: 7 p.m. The annual memorial ceremony in remembrance of Holocaust victims will feature keynote speaker, the Honorable Kimberly Prost, who served four years as a judge on the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Everyone is welcome. The ceremony takes place at Somers High School, 120 Primrose St.

Thursday, April 19

Somers Central School District Art Show: 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. The show will take place at Somers High School, 120 Primrose St.

Open Space Committee: 7:30 p.m. The Somers Open Space Committee will meet at the Somers Town House, 335 Route 202.
