SOMERS, N.Y. – Schools, the library, the Post Office and government offices will be closed Monday for Columbus Day. Banks will be open as usual, and most retail establishments will be open. Many will feature special Columbus Day sales.

Garbage collections scheduled for Mondays will be conducted as usual.

Restaurants ordinarily open on Mondays will be open.
