SOMERS, N.Y. - Anita (Armida) Pancotto, nee Spidalieri, passed away surrounded by her family Saturday at her home in Heritage Hills, Somers.
Pancotto was raised in the Bronx, where she attended Christopher Columbus High School. In 1953, she married Michael Pancotto and the couple moved to Mount Vernon, where their two children, John Raymond and Christine, were born.
While her children were young, Pancotto was an executive secretary at Mt. Vernon’s Franciscan Missions. She also was active at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and a leader of the Little Flower Altar Society.
The family moved to Irvington and she took a job in the legal, public relations and consumer affairs department at PepsiCo in Somers. She was at PepsiCo for 15 years.
After her husband, Michael, passed away, Pancotto moved to Heritage Hills and served as recording secretary for the condominium board. She was a cluster captain and event planner for the Ciao Italia Club and enjoyed playing bocce, bowling, and taking trips to casinos with her Heritage Hills friends.
Pancotto is survived by her children, John (Patty) Pancotto and Christine (Gary) Boyd; and her grandchildren, John and Anthony Pancotto and Michael Kraiza and James Boyd. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Matilda Kiernan; and a brother, Bruno Spidalieri.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 10 Croton Falls Road, Croton Falls, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
