Antoinette LePere Disque, 90, Of Somers

SOMERS, N.Y. - Antoinette LePere Disque of Somers, formerly of Brewster, died Tuesday, Sept. 30. She was 90.

Disque was born April 14, 1924, in Tuckahoe, to Vincenzo and Josephine (Izzo) Tavino. She graduated from Brewster High School in 1942 as class valedictorian. She was active in the local community including participation in the procurement of the property which now houses the Brewster Schools. She raised funds for the construction of Putnam Hospital Center, spent 20 years in the accounting department and volunteered for the hospital auxiliary. She was past president and treasurer for the Putnam Hospital Center Auxiliary. She was also a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole church for many years before moving to Somers and becoming a member of St. Joseph’s Church. She was involved with the Heritage Hills community where she lived. .

Disque is survived by her sons, Robert LePere, Peter LePere (Jean), John LePere (Virginia), Lawrence LePere (EllenAnn) and Carl LePere; stepson, Bill Disque; brother, Justin Tavino (Lorraine); sister-in-law, Nellie Tavino; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and companion of seven years, Ed Stark. She was predeceased by her parents; and husbands, Benedict (Bob) LePere in Brewster and Robert W. Disque.

Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 2 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3 at St. Joseph’s Church, Somers. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O’ Toole Cemetery, Brewster.
