SOMERS, N.Y. – Barbara Doncourt Whitaker of Somers died Jan. 12. She was 81.
Whitaker was born May 5, 1931, in Bronx, N.Y., to Robert and Arline Doncourt. She majored in art and graduated from Dean Junior College in 1950.
A homemaker, gardener and chef, she loved good food, her family and friends.
Whitaker is survived by a son, Sam Whitaker; a brother, Robert Doncourt; a niece and a nephew. She was predeceased by a daughter, Corwin Doncourt Slayton.
Visitation was held Wednesday at Oelker-Cox and Sinatra Funeral Home in Mount Kisco. Cremation took place at Ferncliff Crematory in Hartsdale.
