SOMERS, N.Y. -- Donald Gregory Gibbons, Jr., a former Somers resident, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, N.C. He was 54.
He was born in Astoria, N.Y., and was a senior mechanical engineer with Schneider Electric for the past 16 years.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years: Eileen Keane Gibbons; children: Krysten, Donald G. III, Amanda and Gael Gibbons all of Wake Forest, NC; grandchildren: Morgan Pollock and Colin Gibbons; parents: Donald G Gibbons, Sr. and Joan Patricola Gibbons of Somers, N.Y.; brother, Robert Gibbons of Croton Falls, N.Y.; sisters: Maureen Cole & husband Thomas of North Salem, N.Y. and Karen Jahn & husband Richard of South Salem, N.Y.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 11 at St. Joseph's RC Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Somers.
