SOMERS, N.Y. – Dr. William A. Bauman of Somers died Nov. 28 at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center of New York. He was 89.
Bauman was born Nov. 23, 1923, in New York to Louis and Stella Kraus Bauman. He practiced medicine, specializing in pediatrics for more than 50 years. He was the vice president of medical affairs at Danbury Hospital from 1979 to 1990.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan (Carlsen) Bauman; two sons, William C. Bauman and Dr. Phillip A. (Milbry Polk) Bauman; and a daughter, Pamela (Nicholas) Pitasi.
Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah. A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m.
