Gerard J. Gregory, 79, Of Somers

SOMERS, N.Y. -- Gerard J., "Jerry" Gregory, a Somers resident, died Oct. 26 in the middle of his last polka dance. He as 79. 

Gregory was born Sept. 13, 1936, in New York City. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy Seabees for 20 years as a chief petty officer. Following that, he served in the N.Y. Air National Guard for seven years as chief master sergeant for  a civil engineering unit. He was an electrical designer for the Port Authority of NY/NJ for 33 years before retiring. 

He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen and his son, Joseph. 

He is survived by his son, Gerard J. Gregory Jr. of Irvington, and his wife, Lisa; and grandson, Gerard "Jerry" Joseph Gregory III. 

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's RC Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Route 202, Somers. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of his beloved wife, Kathleen to the American Cancer Society
