John I. Bosco, 81, Of Somers

SOMERS, N.Y. – John I. Bosco of Somers, local attorney, active Knights of Columbus member and very active parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, died Sunday, Feb. 8. He was 81.

He worked as an attorney in New Rochelle before retiring in 1994. He was a member of the American Bar Association of New York.

Born in 1933 in the Bronx to John and Louise Bosco, he graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School, earning a bachelor's degree from Fordham University and a Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.) from Fordham Law School.

John served in the Army from 1954-56, attaining the rank of lieutenant while being in the 867th Anti-Aircraft Battalion and the defense counsel for the 68th Group Regiment in Korea.

In 1955, he married Rosemary Greco at St. Helena's Church in the Bronx.

John was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and his local parish council, while teaching real estate law at Iona College.

He will be remembered most for his love for his wife and family and his strong faith.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; children, Christina (and her husband, Joseph Cervone), John (and his wife, Eileen Maloney), Vincent, Deborah Lividini and Victoria (and her husband, John Betzig); grandchildren, Jennifer Shaw, Christy Cervone, Lisa Bosco, Jacqueline Lividini, John Bosco, Anthony Lividini, Jocie Lividini, Rosemary Betzig and Tori Betzig; and his great-grandchildren, Jack and Chloe Shaw.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the American Heart Association and the American Lung Association
