Laurie Sutton, 61, Somers-Area Native

SOMERS, N.Y. -- Laurie Sutton died Friday, Oct. 23 from injuries sustained in a bicycling accident in Eastham, Cape Cod, Mass. She was 61.

Sutton was a native of the Somers/Katonah area, born Feb. 8, 1954 to Rose and Angelo Saracelli, the youngest of their three children.

She married Anthony Sutton in 1974, and they had two children together. 

She was an active person who loved being outdoors, reading and gardening. She worked most of her life in the medical field, until in early 2014, when she semi-retired and moved to Cape Cod full time. There, she was active in the local hiking club, the local church and enjoyed working part-time at the Cape Cod Dog, a pet-supply store near her home. 

Sutton is survived by her husband, Anthony, as well as their two children, Katherine Martin and Patrick Sutton. She also is survived by her brothers, Rick and James Saracelli, and her sisters-in-law Gail and Tracey; her aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephew, and other extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's RC Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers. 

Private cremation will follow.

Sutton's family is planning a celebration of her life in Cape Cod in November.
