Lawrence Alfano, Of Somers

SOMERS, N.Y. – Lawrence Alfano, of Somers, died on Feb. 10.

Born in the Bronx to Luigi and Nancy Alfano, he earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Western Connecticut State University, becoming a business manager for Westchester County for more than 35 years.

Lawrence prepared taxes for seniors on his own time, and was a scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts in Yorktown Heights.

His other interests were painting and ham radio, being a licensed operator.

Lawrence is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 53 years, Joan; loving children Michael (and wife Eileen) and Diane Nolan; precious granddaughter Amy and her father Kevin Nolan.

He is the brother of Carmela Burriesci, Angela Alfano, the late Louis Alfano, Jr. and Ralph "Sonny" Alfano.

Visiting hours are from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Clark Associates Funeral Home, located at 4 Woods Bridge Road in Katonah.

There will be a mass of Christian burial on Feb. 14 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's RC Church, located at 137 Moseman Road in Yorktown Heights.

Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
