Philip Augustine Dreeland, 68, Of Croton-On-Hudson

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Philip Augustine Dreeland, 68, of Croton-on-Hudson, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015. He was 68.

Dreeland was born July 28, 1948, in Ossining, to the late Walter E. Dreeland Jr. and Ruth T. (Patterson) Dreeland Riley.

He attended and graduated from Croton-Harmon High School and was a Vietnam-era U.S. Army veteran. He served in the Westchester Civil Air Patrol and was a lifetime member of the Croton-Harmon Fire Patrol #1. He worked and retired from Metro-North as a ticket agent and after retirement he volunteered at the N.Y.S. Veterans Home in Montrose, driving many patients to church services.

Dreeland is survived by his sister and brother, Ruthanne M. Dreeland and Walter E. Dreeland, III (Joyce); his nephews, Walter "Eddie" Dreeland, IV and Bran K. Dreeland.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St.,Croton-on-Hudson.

Funeral Services will be at 8 p.m. following visitation at the funeral home.
