William W. Ward, 96, Of Croton, World War II Veteran

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – William W. Ward, 96, of Croton-On-Hudson, formerly of White Plains, died on Sunday, April 5.

He was born Nov. 30, 1918, in Schenectady, to Thomas and Mary Reynolds Ward.

Ward served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He then worked for General Foods in Tarrytown until his retirement in 1981.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW.

Survivors include four daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Fitzmaurice of Ossining, Anne (Robert) Jordan of Staatsburg, Rosemarie (Eric) and Claire (Robert) Satenberg, both of White Plains; two sons, Thomas (Michaela) of Ashburn, Va. and Bill (Mary) of Katonah; and daughter-in-law, Mary Ward; and 17 grandchildren.

His wife, Helen Burke Ward; one daughter, Dottie; and one son, Kevin, preceded him in death.

Calling hours are 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Four Woods Bridge Road, Katonah.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 148 Hamilton Ave., White Plains.

Interment will follow in the Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W. Stevens Ave., Hawthorne.
