Police were summoned again to the location about 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22. Once again the dogs were outside barking and no one was at home.
The following items also were reported by Somers police:
Burglary: A Warren Street resident discovered on Tuesday, Jan. 22, that someone had broken through the downstairs rear door of his home and had stolen a Macintosh computer and some jewelry. The incident was referred to the New York State Police Somers Barracks.
Car Parts Stolen: About 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, a Tighe Road resident found that a wheel cap and lamp cap were missing from her 2008 black Honda, parked in her driveway. She told police she was not sure exactly when the parts had been taken. The officer suggested she might consider installing motion sensors around the driveway and the side of the house. He also suggested that police make more patrols.
Feces on Car: On Saturday, Jan. 19, a man returned to his car, parked in a lot near an animal grooming salon on Route 6, and found that someone had thrown a substance at the car that appeared to be feces. The officer could not find evidence of the incident, but filed a report.
Appliances Taken: When the former tenant of a restaurant on Route 6 vacated the premises, he removed a large walk-in refrigerator, some stainless steel shelving and an air conditioner, all of which the property owner believed he had no right to take. The owner valued the items at about $60,000. Police advised her on Monday, Jan. 14, to contact a lawyer, as this appeared to be a tenant-landlord dispute.
Harassment: A woman returning empty bottles at the Route 6 Stop & Shop on Wednesday, Jan. 23, was offensively and repeatedly cursed by another person in the room. She described the man as about 6 feet tall, 40 to 45 years old, wearing a blue jacket. She and a witness saw him drive off in a dark-colored car. Police could not locate him.
