Fire crews were dispatched to the parkway at shortly after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, near the Weaver Street exit, where there was a reported vehicle fire, Westchester County Police confirmed on Thursday.

According to the Scarsdale Police Department, upon arrival, crews noted that the gasoline tank of the fully involved car had ruptured with fuel burning on the roadway.

The fire was quickly knocked down using Class B foam to "create a blanket to smother the burning fuel"  and the scene was swiftly and safely cleared. No injuries were reported.
