Police said they observed the two males in the vehicle when they arrived at around 2:20 a.m. and that the operator of the vehicle, the Cortlandt Manor man, was intoxicated.
Further investigation revealed a loaded .38 revolver and the large amount marijuana in the vehicle. Both subjects were arrested without incident and the Cortlandt Manor man, whose identity was not released, was identified by police as a parolee.
He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree (Class C felony), criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree (Class D felony), criminal possession of a firearm (Class E felony), criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree (Class D felony), and driving while intoxicated (Class A misdemeanor).
The passenger, a 25-year-old from Peekskill, whose name also was not released by police, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree (Class C felony), criminal possession of a firearm (Class E felony) and criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree (Class D felony).
Both men were arraigned in Beacon City Court and are currently held on bail.
