Westchester County Police officers were dispatched to a Valley View Terrace residence shortly before 6 p.m. on Jan. 3, following reports of a disturbance at the home involving 38-year-old Vincenzo Legato.
During the subsequent investigation into the incident, it was determined that Legato allegedly struck several people during the dispute, and took a phone from one of his alleged victims to keep them from calling law enforcement.
Legato was arrested and charged with third-degree assault, criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors. He was also cited for harassment, a violation. Following arraignment, Legato was released on his own recognizance and an order of protection was issued by the court, barring him from having contact with people at the home.
Legato is due back in Mount Kisco Justice Court later this year to answer the charges.
