Croton Fire Official Helps Rescue Ailing Woman After Crash

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- A Croton fire official who came upon a car accident in Cortlandt Manor on Monday helped rescue a passenger who was having chest pains.

The deputy chief called for help from the fire department and emergency medical services.

The car had been hit by a trailer that was being pulled by a dump truck on Quaker Bridge Road East, according to the fire department’s Facebook post.

The unidentified woman was taken to the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

The road was reopened after the damaged car was towed away, the post said.
