James Carson, 50, allegedly was forced to retire from NYPD in 1991 due to a back injury and began collecting disability benefits. Investigators discovered that the Yorktown resident had, in fact, been working for watchmaker Tourneau as the director of security for the last decade, LoHud.com reported.
Carson allegedly took steps to convince the Social Security Administration that he was eligible for benefits, including walking with a cane and alleging his claiming he needed his wife to drive him around, LoHud.com said.
Carson was taken into custody and released on $600,000 bond, according to LoHud.com.
