Gage has become a star in the low-rent world of hardcore wrestling, which takes place mostly outdoors and in small venues, and features “wrestlers” somersaulting off ropes — and even ladders — hitting one another with long flourescent bulbs, throwing themselves into tables set on fire and dripping pints of fake blood.
Gage, whose theme song is Godsmack’s “A Little Crazy,” was the first man to win the Combat Zone Wrestling championship, has competed in more CZW matches than anyone, and is its only Grand Slam Champion (World Heavyweight, Tag Team, Iron Man, and Ultraviolent Underground).
A surveillance camera captured clear footage of Wilson leaving the PNC Bank branch in Collingswood on Wednesday afternoon bank, police said. Wrestling fans then confirmed it was the CZW wrestler known as “The Man,” “The Future of Hardcore” and “Nick [Expletive] Gage”, who won matches in Japan and Germany earlier this year and was a huge favorite at the last two “Carnage Cup”s.
CZW issued a statement Friday saying it has “no direct knowledge of any alleged wrongdoings by Nick Gage.”
“We firmly discourage any fans from emulating any of the actions alleged,” the statement says. “We also hope that if these accusations are true that Nick will turn himself over to authorities.”
Gage, whose bio says he attended Duke University, made short work of opponents such as Mad Man Pondo, The Backseat Boyz, and The Tough Crazy Bastards, sometimes tag-teaming with his brother, fellow CZW wrestler Justice Pain.
