Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department Installs New Officers

MAHOPAC, N.Y. --  Villa Barone was firehouse central as members and distinguished guests gathered to help celebrate the 79th installation of officers of the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday, Oct. 29.

The officers, sworn in by life member and third generation legacy Judge James Reitz, included Chief Jeff Boyle, First Asst. Chief Brian Sacher, Second Asst. Chief Bob Trace, Capts. Dan Meury and Dave Lapadula and Lts. Jason Stasiak, Tom LoPrieno, Chris Tompkins and Rob LoPrieno.

A high point of the evening was the presentation of The Chief's Award to Firefighter Brian Ward, a three-year member of the department who works at Mahopac Middle School.

Ward was described as the first to sign up for standbys and work details, in addition to all the fires and EMS calls he responds and exemplifies the honorable term "volunteer."
