Man Charged With Stealing Twice At Jefferson Valley Store

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A 42-year-old Putnam Valley man was arrested Monday after, police said, he shoplifted at a Yorktown store and then came back for a second shot.

Yorktown Police have charged a 42-year-old Putnam Valley man with petit larceny in connection with the theft of more than $500 worth of merchandise at the Sears in the Jefferson Valley Mall.

Police said that Irving N. Baisley is facing two misdemeanor counts of petit larceny in connection with the theft of more than $500 worth of items from Sears at the Jefferson Valley Mall.

Baisley is accused of taking $179.98 in merchandise without paying for it around 10:56 a.m., police said.

He returned to the store around 6:38 p.m. the very same day and, this time, was grabbed by store security as he tried to leave with merchandise worth $382.92, police said.

Baisley was arrested, processed and then freed on $250 cash bail, police said.

He is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, Nov. 22.
