Man Strikes Victim With Metal Pipe In Mohegan Lake, Police Say

A Dutchess County man was arrested and charged Tuesday after police say he struck a Lexington Avenue resident in the arm with a metal pipe in Mohegan Lake.

Muhamet Kabashi, 47, of Poughquag was charged with assault in the third degree, a Class D felony and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a Class D felony.

A man called police on Sunday, Oct. 15 saying that on the previous Wednesday, Oct. 11, Kabashi attacked him, causing pain, police said. Following a police investigation, Kabashi turned himself in and was released on $2,500 bail.

He is due back in court on Nov. 28.
