Mohegan Lake Teen Charged After Leaving Crash Scene, Police Say

A Northern Westchester teen was charged after leaving the scene of a motor-vehicle crash, Yorktown Police said.

The Mohegan Lake 17-year-old, whose name is being withheld due to his possible eligibility for youthful offender status, was charged with leaving the scene of a personal accident, a Class B misdemeanor and driving with a suspended license, a Class B misdemeanor.

A Yorktown Police officer observed the crash on Nov. 16 that caused injuries and spotted a vehicle leaving the scene, according to police. The driver was located, arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing.

The teen was released on $200 cash bail to a parent and is due back in court on Dec. 14.
