Police told LoHud that Mount Kisco officer James Whalen, 46, punched his ex-girlfriend after forcing her to stop her car when she picked up another man. Whalen also punched the man six times in the face after cutting off the car on Carpenter Avenue at around 7:20 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, according to the report.
Mount Kisco police turned over the criminal investigation to county police after learning it involved one of their officers, according to the report. Whalen surrendered to county police on Friday, Dec. 20. He was arraigned on misdemeanor charges of third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and third-degree attempted assault, according to the report.
