Police Arrest Man In Somers For Petit Larcency

SOMERS, N.Y. -- New York State Police arrested a Mahopac man and charged him with petit larceny after he allegedly attempted to steal items from a Somers grocery store on Wednesday, Dec.4, according to police officials.

Harold Gelchinsky, 66, allegedly attempted to leave the Stop & Shop in Somers Commons without paying for items he had in his possession, State Police said.

Gelchinsky was issued a ticket ordering him to appear in Town of Somers Justice Court on Monday, Dec. 9, according to State Police.
