Possible Road Rage Incident On Somers’ Lovell Street

SOMERS, N.Y. – Police said a woman driving on Lovell Street about 10 p.m. Thursday was distracted by a gray Subaru SUV driving erratically and apparently following her car.

She turned to a side street to lose the tailgater and doubled back to Lovell, where the SUV cut her off, forcing her to stop, police said. A passing motorist who observed the incident intervened, and the SUV driver fled the scene, according to police.

Witnesses managed to note a partial license plate number, and police were able to locate the vehicle and the suspect. After police interviewed the suspect, he was charged with several offenses, including DWI and driving with a revoked license.

Somers police also reported the following incidents: 

Parking Tickets: At the request of the Somers Fire Department, Somers police issued parking summonses Friday evening to two illegally parked vehicles on Old Tomahawk Street.

Alarm Discharged: Police responded to a report of an alarm discharging in a BOCES campus building Saturday, but found no indication of an emergency condition.

Speeding Driver: A driver was stopped for allegedly speeding on Mahopac Avenue on Saturday and issued a summons for driving 54 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Another Speeding Driver: On the same day, another allegedly speeding driver on Mahopac Avenue was issued a summons for driving 50 mph in a 30 mph zone
