SOMERS, N.Y. – Police said a woman driving on Lovell Street about 10 p.m. Thursday was distracted by a gray Subaru SUV driving erratically and apparently following her car.
She turned to a side street to lose the tailgater and doubled back to Lovell, where the SUV cut her off, forcing her to stop, police said. A passing motorist who observed the incident intervened, and the SUV driver fled the scene, according to police.
Witnesses managed to note a partial license plate number, and police were able to locate the vehicle and the suspect. After police interviewed the suspect, he was charged with several offenses, including DWI and driving with a revoked license.
