The accident occurred around 2:45 p.m. Friday, when Richard Bertram, an 88-year-old Somers resident, struck Geller with his 2005 Chevrolet Impala.
Geller, 47, was walking north on the northbound side of Route 22 on the roadway’s edge with his back to traffic, police said.
Bertram, traveling north as well, was rounding a curve in the roadway when he struck Geller from the rear, police said.
Croton Falls Volunteer Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene and found Geller with no pulse. Emergency workers were able to restore his pulse and rush him to the hospital, police said.
The New York State Police also responded to the scene, along with the North Salem Police.
