Putnam Judge Revokes DiPippo's Bail Over Social-Media Posts

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- As Anthony DiPippo awaits a third trial in the 1994 rape and murder of 12-year-old Josette Wright in Putnam County, his posts on social media have landed him back in custody this week after a judge revoked his $1 million bail, according to a lohud.com report.

Anthony DiPippo, released on $1 million bail while awaiting a third trial in the 1994 rape and murder of 12-year-old Josette Wright, is back in custody after prosecutors complained about social media posts related to the case, lohud.com says.

DiPippo was taken into custody after a court hearing Monday in Putnam County during which prosecutors complained about his social media posts. One of the most recent posts is about his former girlfriend Denise Rose, who he believes was coerced into testifying against him, asking her to "own responsibility," lohud.com says.

DiPippo was twice convicted in the case, but both convictions were later overturned, most recently after a judge ruled that he should have been able to present evidence of the possible involvement of another man. He was released from jail on bail earlier this year after 20 years behind bars, lohud.com reports.
