Putnam Valley Man Charged With Violating Order Of Protection In Yorktown

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a 24-year-old resident of Putnam Valley on a criminal contempt charge, police said.

The arrest came about when officers were dispatched to a residence on Commerce Street to investigate the report of an alleged violation of a temporary order of protection on Monday, Sept. 12, about 6:35 a.m., according to police.

Following an investigation, it was determined that the suspect, identified as Zachary John Heady, was allegedly at the residence in violation of an order of protection issued by the Yorktown Justice Court, police said.

Heady was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to Police Headquarters; he has been charged with criminal contempt in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor, according to police.

Following processing, the defendant was arraigned and released without bail, police said.

He was scheduled to be in court Tuesday evening, according to police.
