The woman, whose name was not released, was hospitalized after the Feb. 14 incident, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies first arrived to the woman’s home after receiving a Valentine’s Day evening call from her husband, who told investigators that she had threatened to overdose on medication in addition to the threats of using a knife to cut herself, police said.

Perceiving the threats to be “credible,” deputies took the woman into custody under the state’s mental hygiene law, according to authorities, who said she was taken to Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel for a mental health evaluation.
