The charge came about when an officer was dispatched to a residence on Pine Grove Court to investigate a complaint about a solicitor being in the neighborhood, according to police.

An investigation revealed that Andrew S. Boy, a resident of Cheshire, Conn., was allegedly soliciting door-to-door without a Yorktown peddler’s license, police said.

Boy was charged with peddling/soliciting without a license, a violation of the town code, according to police.

He was issued an appearance ticket at the scene and released on his own recognizance, police said.

The defendant is scheduled to answer the charge in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, Dec. 13, according to police.
