Separate Two-Car Crashes Occur On Route 6 Area Near Somers/Mahopac Border

Emergency responders rushed to the scene of two separate crashes on the Somers/Mahopac border on Saturday afternoon.

The first incident was two-car crash at Route 6 and Baldwin Place Road.

Carmel Fire and Ambulance Corps, with Mahopac Fire and EMS, along with Mahopac Falls Fire and EMS on dual dispatch, were called to the crash on Route 6, according to Jack Casey of the Mahopac Falls Fire Department.

Before units could clear the scene, another call for a two-car crash with injuries was dispatched to Mahopac, Mahopac Falls and Somers to respond with fire and EMS units.

Mahopac Falls engine was first to arrive on scene and firefighters took over traffic control from Somers and Carmel police so they could do the investigation.

Somers arrived with an EMS unit and Fire Police. Mahopac Fire arrived with a chief and heavy Rescue, followed by a EMS unit from Mahopac Falls.

A well-coordinated call with multiple departments and multiple units kept traffic flowing through a very busy intersection.
