Paul T. Masi, of Shenorock, was charged with third-degree attempted assault and fleeing the scene of an accident, according to State Police in Somers. Masi had been wanted since Monday night after his vehicle crashed into a property on Miller Avenue in the town of Somers and he fled, police said.

Masi is also accused of attempting to punch the property owner at Miller Avenue after the property owner came out to assist him in the accident, State Police said Wednesday.

Town of Somers Police, State Police in Somers and the Westchester County Police Department conducted a search on the ground and an aerial search involving helicopters, State Police said.

It remains unclear whether there were other occupants inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, State Police said.
