Somers Teen Found Growing Marijuana Plants Also Faces Burglary Charge

SOMERS, N.Y. --  New York State Police out of the Somers barracks executed a search warrant on Wednesday at the home of a 17-year-old Somers teen suspected of growing marijuana.

During the search, troopers seized two marijuana plants, drug paraphernalia, and a small quantity of marijuana inside the home, state police said.

The 17-year-old, whose name has not been released, was arrested and charged with unlawfully growing cannabis and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was also charged with criminal trespass for an unrelated burglary investigation that began in June, police said.

He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Town Court.
