State Police Issue 77 Tickets At FDR State Park

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- From seat belts to child restraints, state police are ramping up enforcement on safety at Yorktown's FDR State Park.

New York State Police issued 77 tickets, a majority for child restraint violations, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday at the entrance of FDR Park In Yorktown, according to a press release.

"Ensuring highway safety is a State Police mission priority," representatives said in the release. "The roadways are made safer through vehicle and traffic enforcement and education, reducing deaths, injuries and property damage, resulting from motor vehicle accidents."

Last week, State Police in Somers conducted an "Occupant Safety Enforcement Detail" at the entrance of FDR State Park in Yorktown between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on July 14. The detail resulted in 61 tickets being issued, a majority for failure to wear a seat belt, according to the release.
