Tractor-Trailer Carrying Fuel Crashes On Route 6N, Igniting Fire

MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- The Mahopac Falls Fire Department battled a blaze after a crash involving a tractor-trailer crash that was carrying fuel oil on Route 6N, south of Agor Lane around noon Wednesday, according to  Jack Casey of the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department.

The fire was put out after a few minutes with a fast and aggressive attack. Surrounding trucks and tankers were spared damage due to the quick response. 

Fire officer Lieutenant Rob LoPraino arrived on the scene first and ordered tankers, rescue and EMS. The Assistant Fire Chief Brian Sacher arrived on the scene within minutes and assumed command. Carmel police also responded with multiple units.
